The primary goal of this nationwide forum series, organized as part of the MKIK Business Development Program, is to effectively facilitate cooperation between domestic small and medium-sized enterprises and large corporations seeking suppliers. Through the program, large companies can more easily find domestic supplier partners, while Hungarian SMEs can find new domestic markets for their products and services. The event provides business networking opportunities in a speed-dating format between large corporations and potential Hungarian supplier companies. At the events, participants can discuss matters related to the supplier sectors specified by the pre-announced large corporations. Participation requires advance registration and preparation.
At the press conference, Elek Nagy, President of the Chamber, stated: “The experience of the forum series shows that there is significant demand among domestic businesses for organized, targeted business networking opportunities.”
This year, an online preparatory workshop will be held before each event to assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) applying as suppliers: two experts from large corporations will provide practical guidance on how to effectively prepare for business negotiations. Another new feature compared to previous nationwide tours is that suppliers registering for individual programs can now conduct pre-arranged business negotiations not only with large corporations but also with each other.
Dr. Gergely Balla, Chief Business Development Officer of the Hungarian Economic Development Agency, emphasized: the Government provides extensive support for businesses’ supplier development investments in the form of grant funding, loans, and equity, and the Agency complements these by providing not only financial resources but also knowledge in the form of consulting services. The National Champions Advisory Program is already available to companies participating in the National Champions Loan Program; based on an agreement with the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK), the scope of those eligible for advisory services will be expanded to include supplier companies actively participating in the National Chamber Supplier Forum. Agency staff will be present at all 7 events to inform participants about available development funds and consulting services.
