DIGI-CONTENT

Details

Digi Content, a project designed to address fragmentation and skills gaps in the European Creative and Content Industries (CCI), aims to leverage the potential of Extended Reality (XR) technologies. The primary objective is to enhance the competitiveness of the CCI by empowering regional development agencies to effectively support innovative XR projects, with a focus on AI-driven content creation.

The project addresses four critical challenges: market fragmentation, skills gap, investment challenges, and the need for an ethical and sustainable framework. It aims to foster cooperation, bridge skills gaps, promote tailored investment models, and establish robust ethical and sustainable guidelines.

The project will explore the strategic utilization of pooled computing resources and federated learning, recognizing their crucial role in the deployment of XR/AI technologies across Europe.

Its cross-sectoral nature merges advanced tech like XR and AI with the CCI's distinct demands, ensuring a policy-focused strategy that enhances regional innovation policies.

The project involves key partners from across Europe, including the Communidade Intermunicipal da Regiao de Leiria (CIMRL) in Portugal, the Regional Development Fund in Greece, the Computer Technology Institute (CTI) in Greece, the Lithuanian Innovation Center (LIC) in Lithuania, MGFÜ Public Benefit Non-Profit Ltd. in Hungary, The Marshal Office of Silesian Voivodship and the Coal Mining Museum in Zabrze in Poland, CREW in Ireland, and the Center for Knowledge Management (CKM) in North Macedonia.

The project will bring significant benefits to its partners and its stakeholders, including content producers and users of the applications that could result from the project, such as museums, tourist offices, etc.

The project aligns with the EU's Cohesion policy and other key strategies, contributing to the broader goal of enhancing the competitiveness, sustainability, and ethical standards of the CCI sector in Europe.

The project is supported by the EU co-funded Interreg Europe programme.

Project budget: EUR 1.670 365
